Our Abu Dhabi getaway (Part 1) : Dinner at Pizza Di Rocco
So last week J and I decided to go away and I'm so glad we did because (quite honestly) Abu Dhabi surprised us. It's great to see how many new restaurants have opened up in Abu Dhabi, definitely enough to keep you out the entire weekend. (weekends really)
Our first stop on our Abu Dhabi weekend began with dinner at Pizza Di Rocco, we were welcomed by the restaurant manager - Peter who explained to us a little about the origins of this restaurant.
The first thing you will notice as soon as you step into the restaurant is the brilliant decor, it was pretty obvious of the effort taken to set-up the place to give diners a real feel of an Italian dinner experience - which is exactly what Juhitriz and I got.
The evening started off with a beautiful bowl of Di rocco salad (personally the star dish of the evening) mixed with the best of Italian greens, walnuts, cherry tomatoes, fresh oven baked goat's cheese and held together by a sweet balsamic dressing. An absolute must try.

|My guilty pleasure: The insalata caprese|
|The Bresola con Rucola|
For the mains the portions can easily be shared by two, we got the Italia pizza and the Beef lasagna. Cutting into the pizza was so easy - light dough, gooey cheese and a fresh hit of rocket leaves - an absolute delight!
The beef lasagna was a perfectly layered dish with slabs of flavour meat and oozing soft cheese.
We ended our evening with the Tiramisu and the Torta della nonna (as suggested by Sheila - our waitress for the evening)

I loved the Torta della nonna however if you love chocolate (or coffee) the tiramisu will be your choice.
