Food review for Shakespeare and Co., Dubai mall

On a Thursday evening, J decided to surprise me for a dinner date here. Since i'd never checked this on Zomato (which I normally do for all restaurants) I dint know what to expect, let me sum it: they have everything!

Let me walk you through the evening, we decided to go to the Souk Al Bahar since we love the ambience there. This resturant was PACKED and it was only 8pm. We waited for about 5 minutes to be seated, and got a beautiful view of the Dubai fountains. I love the look of this restaurant, it has light pale colours, soft pink and greens and really calms you down.

Food -
Since it was just 2 of us for the food we decided to order the mains directly, we got a cordon bleu (AED72) and a lasagna (AED47) and a mixed berry shisha. We were first served hot bread with a beautiful herb based butter, I promise you before the food came we were stuffed. For me just knowing that they could make bread and butter so well already made me hungry for the food.

I've never had a cordon bleu and this was simply outstanding! The chicken had a lovely crust of bread crumbs and the chicken wasnt dry, the filling is what i absolutely loved, the mushroomy-cheese filling makes my mouth water as i write this review! The chicken was served with a side of fried potatoes mixed with tiny bits of and ham and a few more herbs.
Since its been a while I've eaten, i was really excited about this - the lasagna was exactly how it should be. The lasagna sheets were cooked well through and the layering of the meat with the cheese was splendid, the lasagna was covered with a rich layer of cheese. The food of this place is 5 out o f 5

Service -
From the time we placed the order, the food was served within 15 minutes which i thought was really good seeing the technique that went into the cordon bleu. The waiters were also pretty quick seeing as how the restaurant was packed

Although we went to this place for a romantic date, we realised this is more of a family outing so it was quite noisy esp with the children, it would be nice if the noise wasn't as much but overall still a place I would go to again.

Also, the shisha is quite good, just make sure the guy comes around to change the coal pretty often.
